What to include
Reporting a calculation error
Accuracy reports jump the queue. To help us reproduce the issue, include the calculator's URL, the exact inputs and units you entered, the result you got, and the result you expected. We re-verify against the original references and correct the page if you're right. We also change the update date so the fix is visible.
Requesting a new calculator
Tell us what you were trying to calculate and, if you can, the context (job site, lab, classroom, garage). Reader requests genuinely drive what we build next. The calculators added most recently, such as the cubic metre and uterus volume calculators, answer questions people were searching for that no page here covered yet.
Everything else
Feedback, partnership inquiries and press use the same address. We read everything; replies usually go out within a few business days.
Before you write: four quick checks
Most reported errors come from one of four input mix-ups. Checking these first often gets you the right answer in seconds.
- Radius or diameter. A diameter entered as a radius makes a cylinder four times too large and a sphere eight times too large. Use Diameter mode when your number spans the whole object.
- Mixed units. Each field has its own unit menu. A height in inches beside a radius in centimetres gives a valid answer to a different question.
- Inside or outside dimensions. Capacity needs inside dimensions. Outside dimensions include the wall, so they overstate what a tank or container holds.
- US or UK gallons. A US gallon is 3.785 litres and a UK gallon is 4.546 litres, a difference of about 20 percent.
If the numbers still disagree after these checks, send us the details listed above and we will look into it.
A note on medical questions: we can explain how a formula works, but we cannot interpret your results or offer medical advice. Please take clinical questions to your healthcare provider.
